Adding a septoplasty or turbinate reduction may add 30 to 45 minutes. Revision rhinoplasty and complex ethnic rhinoplasty using rib cartilage commonly run three to five hours because scar tissue must be carefully released and the framework rebuilt.
Plan for a full day at the surgical centre. You will arrive one to two hours early for pre-op preparation and general anesthesia assessment, then spend one to two hours in recovery afterward. Almost all Vancouver rhinoplasty is day surgery, so you go home the same afternoon.
You must arrange a responsible adult to drive you home and stay overnight. Taxis and rideshare alone are not accepted after general anesthesia.
